Mary Poppins Festival hits Maryborough

It has been a big week since the Lions test series started with a blockbuster in Brisbane last week.

My articles keep on running in the APN newspapers – have a look at this week’s featuring in the Fraser Coast Chronicle if you haven’t had a chance for a preview on Melbourne’s Saturday test. I will say I’m expecting another hard hit out, and whilst I may not agree with every selection the boys looked good last week. It was a tough match and they very nearly got the result.

I’ll bring you more on the Classic ANZAC charity match that I was a part of but to start I’ll say that it was a fantastic night at Ballymore last week. About 10,000 braved the weather and over $200,000 was raised for the Mates4Mates charity which is a completely top effort.

The Lions series will keep me busy again this weekend, but on the home front it’s great to see the Mary Poppins Festival entertaining the families. A famous story for the kids, it is great to see what a Fraser Coast local can achieve with (more than) a little imagination.

Sunday is the ‘Festival in the Park’ at Maryborough’s Queen’s Park and a full week of events is set to follow. The footage is from a local and celebrates locals enjoying themselves at the Mary Poppins Festival – give it a look with more details of the weekend fun at www.marypoppinsfestival.com.au.

Let’s hope the wallabies can push for a decider and I hope you’re all looking forward to a weekend out in Maryborough. Until next week…
